Render never focus
Render never focus
Using Cindigo trying to generate a stupid render of a dancer, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.
Used C4D material, Pathtracing+GPU acceleration (tested also with MLT with BiDir), Sun light type.
Using Indigo 3.8.26, C4D R16, Win 7 Pro 64 Bit
The result never come to focus, there is no clear convergence waiting more and more, attached an example, any suggestion?

Re: Render never focus
I don't think you can, straight from the C4D. But, once exported into Indigo, you can save it there. My guess is that your scale of the scene is too small, double check your project setting, and Indigo Render setting inside C4D. Next stop is your camera setting, if you have one, if you don't have one, Indigo will create one, so check that out too (mainly f-stop, and focus point (turn off automatic, select your figurine). Basically what snorky already said!
Good luck!
Re: Render never focus
Using C4D Plugin got this error message:
Export Failed
Export filename is empty or directory does not exist..
Anything wrong with plugin installation? I'm using 3.8.12 exporter, did find Indigo installation into C4D plugin directory.
Maybe since I did install C4D into my D drive, that's not the system drive?

Re: Render never focus
I never had sucha a problem, in my Cindigo life. With that in mind, got no clue how to fix it, really sorry. You could check if everything is alright with the plugin folder of your C4D, but other than that, somebody else should take a look. If you don't mind, would you be so kind and send us that scene, so we can test it ourselves? I am sure that the other will find it useful, too.
Re: Render never focus
Attached a zip with the .c4d file, hope did contain all is needed.
The text is just my attempt to create a text that will be attached to dancer base, you can delete it.

Re: Render never focus
Ok, davide, there are tons of things on your scene that I would do differently but I managed to solve that export problem. Once I opened your scene and tried to export it, I got the same error. So, I went to the render setup, and unchecked "custom export path" option which can be found under the "export settings" tab. Or if you really want a custom path, make sure you selected the existing folder and to use file name. It could be the case that you maybe deleted/moved your folder, and now it doesn't exist anymore. On the other note, I noticed that you have sky object, c4d materials, etc. I would highly suggest you switch to Indigo materials so you can better understand the thinkings of Indigo, which would in the end produce better looking materials, etc.
Hope this helps!
P.S
As for the focus problem, you should uncheck "autofocus" and pick your focus point where you want the focus to be, and adjust the f-stop to your liking. (8, or 12 would be a good value, it depends on your wishes)
P.P.S
I am not sure exactly, is this scene supposed to be an animation, or? Because you have keyframed your scene scale and light type!
I never saw someone keyframing the scale of the scene. Also, if you wanted to animate the sun position, you would do so by keyframing it's position/rotation in the objects parameter.
Hope this helps!

Re: Render never focus
Thanks thesquirrell, I'm ashamed from my ignorance but so it is, I need to start and also to produce for next week, so will cut corners and try to do my best.
Ok for the exporter now is working, also where did I find the autofocus?
About keyframing...I simply want to set some parameters value and as (also) C4D primer I never understood if they are accepted or not without a "Ok" or "Set" button to push. So I did try to click here and there

Nothing to be ashamed of, David. No one is born with knowledge! Or are we, and we just need to remember? (Feels like Plato moment coming)
You can check the autofocus in two different places. One is inside C4D, and the other is inside Indigo. In Indigo, on the left side, where your objects, materials, and mediums are listed, you can find Camera object. Click on it, and somewhere in the middle you will find autofocus checkbox. Under that you can manually put in the value of focal distance, or just click on "pick focal distance" and click on your scene where you want it to be. In this scene of yours, it will give a value of 0,1. Inside C4D you need to create a camera object. Then click on it, and add Indigo Camera tag, which can be found in Indigo tags. To set the mentioned focal distance you need to click on the camera and select that arrowy thing and pick the distance, (0.1 value in Indigo, will be 10cm in C4D, if you set cm as your units in the preferences), then click on the newly created indigo camera tag and uncheck "autofocus".
In order to get your scene going you will need to clear those keyframes from your light type, and scene scale, otherwise it will always promt you that the light in the scene is missing. Then select the Sun for Light Type, and drag and drop your sun light into the empty slot.

Re: Render never focus
I was just to ask you from where this light source error message was coming
Searching and searching....didn't find where C4D list keyframes.
Not in Timeline or Object Manager....or I0m missing something else?

Re: Render never focus
Ok that is was I was thinking, confirm I did have all the buttons grayed.
The render still told me ERROR: The scene must contain at least one light source.
This using the Sun or Infinite light.
Using Area light the render start but all is black.
Materials are now all original Indigo.
Standard C4D render produce an output.
