Out of Core Rendering

Post by ravenzep » Fri Mar 29, 2013 8:40 am

Hello!

Is this possible to add to Indigo? This is for GPU rendering ofcourse..

http://developer.download.nvidia.com/GT ... dering.pdf

It is already in new IRAY. And performance downgrade is only 20%. But that means loading 300 million polygons in to GPU memory.

cheers

I can not pretend I do.
Expanded Out of Core support
NVIDIA GTX class products can now page to system RAM when exceed on-board GPU memory.
among other things...

What I am wondering is wether one could render on GPU a scene with more polygons than the RAM could hold... I take it it can not. #smartass

Sounds very cool anyways, and non-nVidia users seem not to be excluded from the technology.
obsolete asset
