does Indigo work in windows 8 ?

hi,

i was thinking of trying Ingido, i use windows 8 x64 and max 2013, and just installed indigo tried to install different versions just as trial , but everytime i install it and try to start the renderer i get info

indigo.exe has stopped working. a problem has caused the program to stop working correctly please close the program

i installed it as an administrator but it doesnt work.

any advice ?

I'm running windows X64. All works fine for me.

Is your machine pretty new?
I installed
On a win7 machine recently and got a similar issue. I learnt that
Indigo requires the 2008 C libraries. They can be downloaded from Microsoft website. You are looking for the redistributable Installer

I'm not sure if this is your issue but resolved my install and runs great now

I tried to run Indigo on a fresh installed Win8 64 bit with only steam and 2 games added. worked without any problem.
Steam installed some Microsoft C redist. thats seems to be needed.
Latest build shouldn't have the need of it anymore afaik, check out the latest beta:

i have found the problem. It was my graphic card i use ati card and opencl is still poorly supported in windows 8 thats why it didnt work. now all work great. thanks guys

Hi, could you say how did you solve this problem? I tried everything but Indigo seems launching only with old drivers, where parallel GPU accelleration is not supported. My notebook card is hd 5145. On my PC is everything ok. I have indigo 3.6.2 version.

sorry for the late reply.

I don't think the HD 5145 supports OpenCL, which is required for Indigo's GPU acceleration.
