light problem

Post by kel65 » Sat Dec 03, 2011 9:08 pm

Using sketchup and I can't figure out why there is no sun light coming through my windows when rendering.
I've tried just thin glass (with thickness), exit portals behind glass, just exit portals, and even empty holes and no light comes through. I'm set to Sun and sky and lights on different layers. I've tried reversing faces. Tone mapping set to camera. What's going on??

The normals of your EP (no thickness here!) needs to face into the room, did you checked that?
Also your Glass Window normals should face outwards...

Since this is still at the top of the fourm, I'm going to ask a related question here.
So I want to make an axonometric view of my interior to show the interior plan and lighting. (no roof or ceiling)
I set the environment to black and created portal exits for my windows. Interior looks nice, however, can't see through the windows from the exterior view. Is there a way to see through exit portals? Hope this makes sense.
