What u think, pretty badass for rendering
Not that killer price with 200-300 $ Xeons, and memory is pretty cheap already (even the 4 Gb modules)

The Xeon 7500 CPU is also 8 core / 16 thread, so the machine would in total have 64 cores / 128 threads, at a cost of over $30,000 for the CPUs alone.

Why don't u have (processors via CPU boards type) motherboard (like: http://www.supermicro.com/products/moth ... 8OBN-F.cfm) line for home / personal user who needs cpu power in smaller price range?
Xeon 7500 series 1 cpu is 2300 - 4000 $.

Attractive cpu price is ~ 300 $, that means Xeon 5X00 series.

Lowest price is $2059 for the Intel® Xeon® Processor X7542 (18M Cache, 2.66 GHz, 5.86 GT/s Intel® QPI)
So i7 farm is still the best bang for the buck.

There is even cheaper model in Xeon 7500 line, only $856
And u can get 54% speed of i7-2600 's in 2.9x higher price.
Both consume 95 W power.
