How do you connect to the internet? Do you maybe have a removable (USB) network adapter? It sounds a bit strange that Indigo cant find a network adapter if not connected, even though a network adapter is present.Pibuz wrote:Windows version ( in the licence tab) allows me to get my hardware key; in the Linux version, under "your harware key" slot, I receive the message: " mac_addr_sys failed." : this only happens if I'm not connected to the internet, while all goes fine if I'm conneted.
Do you still need the windows detected harware key?
Indigo 2.4 Stable Released

Re: Indigo 2.4 Stable Released
At home I have two pc. One is mine (downstairs), one is my dad's (upstairs).
My dad's is connected to the internet through an analogic router: very simple.
Mine, instead, has no connection, neither analogic or wireless. If I want to connect to the internet I usually disconnect the case, bring it upstairs and connect the analogic router wire to my pc. This is just what I did a couple weeks ago to update my system (windows, antivirus, drivers, etc..): since then Indigo for Linux, even if correctly installed, kept giving me the same error message and running in free mode. Ok, I said: it has to check the license. While connected, I activated my version without any problems. I was sure that was the only time interner was required. Instead yesterday I tried to use it (no internet connection) and found it was still running in free mode...

Re: Indigo 2.4 Stable Released
Ok, I asked to my Linux pro friend and the problem is solved. If useful, I'll upload a tiny mini-tut for those who have my same problem.
Using Win and Linux I encountered an old problem: in Windows I did the modeling and texturing, as well as the mats' setting. Then I exported the igs file. The usual folder and igs files were correctly created.
Then I switched to Linux, but found that not all the textures were exported to the TX folder. Only the ones currently in use as albedo maps (which are the ones phisically contained INSIDE the SketchUp file). All the other ones (bump, exp,...), which in SkIndigo are connected to a specific destination via a simple path, have conserved the windows-relative path, and not exported to the TX folder. Maintaining the windows path, did not allow Linux to find them, so it gives back an error (cannot find texture etc etc..), so I had to manually enter the right path.
Could it be possible to make ALL THE TEXTURES ACTUALLY IN USE (and I think nk files too..) to be exported to the TX folder? Is it a SkIndigo issue/problem?
Thank you all guys!

Re: Indigo 2.4 Stable Released
maybe im wrong but im the only one who have problems with displacement again ?
Re: Indigo 2.4 Stable Released
You're not the only one dcm, I noticed too. There's still UV nudging around borders with subdivision smoothing. Naively I could believe that merging vertices goes destructive on UV shells borders.
Re: Indigo 2.4 Stable Released
Displacement is one of the basic functions and imho its more important like arch glass acceleration - i mean that problems are not solved but new things are in developement
. This is oldschool problem and not solved yet. And its not about borders only...overal, displacement isnt working properly and its making me sad :(

Re: Indigo 2.4 Stable Released
Its actually a subdiv problem: http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... f=5&t=6619
Most needed fix for Indigo for sure! I use this feature A LOT to smooth my meshes through Indigo, but its only functional for non textured objects :(

Re: Indigo 2.4 Stable Released
Any news about new version :))
Re: Indigo 2.4 Stable Released
Displacement and subdiv are more-or-less fixed in our internal build. We're working on getting the new release out ASAP

Were sliders for tonemapping finally added?OnoSendai wrote:Displacement and subdiv are more-or-less fixed in our internal build. We're working on getting the new release out ASAP :)
Re: Indigo 2.4 Stable Released
Not that I am really that much in need of a new Indigo release but Dougal informed us in the related Blendigo thread that he can not release a new beta version of Blendigo for Blender 2.5 until the next release of Indigo.OnoSendai wrote: We're working on getting the new release out ASAP :)
So how's that coming ?
