problem whit exit portal

Realizing this simple scene The am me aware that the plan of the exit portal it covers the image that I want used as background.why?

the background it is a simple plane whit a diffuse material

Yes, that's normal.
No geometry behind the exit portal will be rendered.
Didn't you know that?

no matter what you do with an exit portal, it wont show ANY geometry behind it. Just sky / background...

If you want the background, there are TWO ways.

1) DON'T use an Exitportal
2) Use it, but heavily use Photoshop, to combine a version, where the background already is clear (should clear up MUCH faster than the rest)

Exit portal only lets through sky&sun, background color and environment exr. No other objects, images or textures will be rendered.
It is not a Maxigo thing. That's just the way exit portals work.
