Blendigo 2.2 Stable

Post by dougal2 » Fri Jan 22, 2010 5:15 am

Here is the 2.2 Stable release of Blendigo.

Due to recent reports of problems on OSX, there is no 2.2 Stable release for OSX until these issues have been resolved. It is top of my list to get this done.

Please also note that this version is identical to 2.2.11-d, so if you already have that installed then you don't need this release.

EDIT: OSX is currently not supportable due to installation issues. We'll be working on fixing this as a matter of priority.

I've been experimenting with different aperture diffraction settings, and I'm having some issues...

When the aperture type is set to 'generated', everything works fine, and the scene exports.

When it is set to 'circular', everything works fine.

When set to 'circular', and an obstacle map is set, Blendigo crashes on export.

When set to 'image', it crashes when an image is set as well as when one is not.

Any help? I'm trying to create some interesting lens flares, but I'm not having any luck.. :(

Here is the console error I get (on all crashes).

Thanks for the report. It looks like this part of the code has not been fully tested since the last major refactoring.

I'll see about getting a patch release done this week.

@Jambert

Can you make sure that your object/camera has both loc and rot keyframes, and try again ?

Well, not totally. It would be better if Blendigo could use location and rotation data independantly rather than needing both. Either that, or some documentation should explain the situation.

Either way, I'll try to avoid this situation in future by doing one or both of the above.

Does blendigo can generate "packed indigo scene" as indigo does? I do my export with virtual xp, I need to open my file with indigo, stop rendering and then pack scene, then I can start rendering in ubuntu.

thx in advance

This is not a Blendigo issue, it is related to the virtual networking present (or not) when running in a virtual machine.

Again, I'll add my personal opinion that running Indigo in a VM is not a good idea.
