I've been using Vray alongside Indigo from Blender for a while now. What always gets me is how Blendigo is so much faster than the Vray exporter, but Indigo takes a lot longer to render than Vray, at least for my purposes.
How is it that Blendigo can export my scene with over 20 trees, each with close to 0.5 million polys, in only a couple minutes, while the Vray script takes 15 minutes? What is it about the Blendigo way of writing meshes and objects that makes it so damn fast?
Blendigo export speed
Re: Blendigo export speed
um.. phew... I thought you might say that Blendigo is the slow one.
well, who knows, maybe their code either
- does a lot more stuff, which takes time
- is not very good
However, just you wait until the Blendigo 2.5 Alpha exporter... you'll be getting vray speeds for sure (it's currently very very slow )

Haha didn't mean to scare you!
But, in all seriousness, when do you think we'll have a chance to play with it?

damn, the cat is out of the bag now...
It'll be a little while yet (4 - 6 weeks perhaps??). I'll be inviting a few people to be an alpha/beta test group before the code is released to the 'public'.
