Using a material from the Material Database
Using a material from the Material Database
When I download a material from the database here, it gives me a .pigm file. I've tried to import it through the materials by selecting EXTERNAL and then choosing the file but it does not work. How would I actually do this?

Hi AtomFury. Try to unwrap (UV) your model. Indigo needs an UV coodrinates to use maps (textures, bumps etc.)

pigm is a packed indigo material. it's a zipped file. just unzip it and you get an igm file and maybe some packed textured. the igm can be used in blendigo.AtomFury wrote:When I download a material from the database here, it gives me a .pigm file. Check normals, dude!

...This would explain a lot... I didn't realize it was an archived file.SmartDen wrote:pigm is a packed indigo material. it's a zipped file. just unzip it and you get an igm file and maybe some packed textured. the igm can be used in blendigo.
I'm a novice when it comes to texturing, something I wanted to say first, sorrydakiru wrote:Hi AtomFury. Try to unwrap (UV) your model. Indigo needs an UV coodrinates to use maps (textures, bumps etc.)

So I need to unwrap my mesh via the UKEY and then apply my texture using that? Or do I just need to have it unwrapped in order to use an external texture through Blender's texture system? It sounds like that's what you meant, but I'm not sure.
