Blendigo installation problem

Post by Akiviri » Mon Jun 22, 2009 6:52 am

Hi - I'm sure there is a similar post somewhere around here, so far I haven't found one though. If there is, my apologies. Ok - problem:

I have installed:

Indigo V 2.06
Blendigo V 2.06
Blender 2.49
Python 2.62

all 64 bit

Indigo comes up - have no clue if it actually works though, because Blendigo doesn't show up as a render option OR an exporter option, Nothing. Nada. Blender finds Python ok - "Found it!", and both seem to work fine otherwise (If you haven't checked out the new game engine yet - WOW,,,dl the files from blender.org and take a look)

I have no clue what I'm doing wrong. I used all the default options for installation, Blender is in program files....any help? Thanx

Since Blendigo 2.x (I think) you will find it in the "Render" menu of the preferences window (topmost bar). Already looked there?

@Blendigo devs:

I remember that the Windows installer of Blender asks where to put its configuration and scripts. Does Blendigo take this into account?

I got it working now. I had to make a "scripts" folder in program files with the installation in there (apparently just for it to find Blendigo), and install blendigo again into the scripts folder of Blender ( in order for indigo/blendigo to work lol ), along with the default installation location in app%data. It does all work correctly now ( how, with that setup - I have no clue...but it does work ) - it's really nice to be able to render straight from Blender :- ).

There is probably a simpler solution....I have a feeling it's something to do with python. After I installed directly into a scripts folder in program files, I got a console error saying something about not being able to load an image ( i forget which one exactly now), and unable to locate blendigo.py...although blendigo finally did show up in Blender with the installation in an outside scripts folder (?) it would not load or run. Since I could not find that particular file - I just installed the whole thing directly into the blender/.blend/scripts folder (making a total of three separate installations running simultaneously) solving that problem.

Installing in either location alone did not work. If I installed into .blender/scrips - it couldn't find it, installing straight into program files - same result...however installing into an outside scripts folder made it find the app - it wouoldn't run without another one in blenders scripts. if someone could explain this for me - I would really appreciate it.
Thanx to all who responded :)
