Cannot get anything more recent than blendigo 1.1.5 working

Post by dfro » Wed Dec 17, 2008 1:39 am

I am running Blender 2.48a with Blendigo v1.1.5 and Indigo v1.1.5 under Ubuntu 8.10. Blendigo v1.1.5 shows up in the export window of Blender and successfully renders. But, I have not been able to get any more recent versions of Blendigo/Indigo working.

Has anybody gotten a more recent version working in Linux/Ubuntu?

Thanks.

SmartDen said that the exporter will now be found under the "Render" section of the scripts panel, did you allready try that?

Thanks guys! I just stumbled across the Render script menu on my own while trying to install BlenderCaliper.1.4.py.

I am impressed that Blendigo_v1.1.13 even showed up under the Render menu, since my IndigoWrapper.conf file points to v1.1.5!

I will try to install the latest version, since I now know where to look.

Maybe a note in the "Blendigo_vx.x.x" posts on where to look in the Blender menus would be a good idea - for others like me, who missed the mention in the forum of this change.

Thanks again!!

Also, something which complicated me getting all the wrapper and python files in the right place is that I had a ~/.blend directory that was installed by ubuntu - blender 2.46.

I downloaded blender 2.48a and put its directory in my home directory. After deleting the ~/.blend directory, I had no problems with blendigo showing up in blender 2.48a.

A curious thing is that periodically a new ~/.blend directory will show up again - and blendigo 1.1.14 will disappear from the script menu in blender untill I delete it again. I should probably just uninstall the ubuntu blender 2.46.

I figured out that the ~/.blend directory reappears if I double click a XXX.blend file to open it. If I launch a blender file this way, I am automatically launched into the ubuntu packaged blender and it immediately creates a new ~/.blend directory. So, I need to remove the ubuntu package of blender if I am going to use the current blender, which is stored in my home directory.

Maybe this will help others who have blendigo disappearing from their blender scripts list.
