Vista (32bit) blender and indigo problem

Post by Comm512 » Mon Jun 16, 2008 7:43 pm

Hi there,

I have a weird problem.
I am using vista for the first time ever. installed blender, python 2.5.2, indigo 1.1.5 and blendigo 1.1.5.
the first 3 installed without problem, but vista asked me if blendigo was installed correctly :? . How should i know that? i did use the installer. So i checked all the py script, the indigowrapper file in bpdata and the preview files in indigo install dir. All was good.
So fired up blender and pressed export of the default scene.
I got an error saying that c:\program files\indigo\indigowrapper.conf could not be accessed due to permission denied.
That file is not there. it sits in blender's subsirs somewhere. indigo did install in c:\program files\indigo though

I use the same files on my other machine which is running winxp and all is fine

what did i do wrong? and can i set some path in vista manually to correct this?

You have to run Indigo as an administrator.

Right click Indigo.exe and select Properties .Select the Compatability tab and check the 'Run this program as an adminstrator' option.

Right. i will try that one, but Blender is giving the error.
Apparently blendigo is searching for the wrapper file in the wrong place.

I will run blender and indigo as admin. Do i need to run python as admin too?
If that is even possible..

try installing indigo somewhere else, not in 'program files'.

try running Blender as admin as well. I run all this stuff as admin - saves a alot of hassle. I have mine in C:\program\indigo and it works fine

Ok, i did move the indigo installation outside program files and
set 'run as admin' on indigo.exe, indigo_console.exe and blender.exe

Now blender can export and access the file locations it needs

Thanks
