Problem rendering with Indigo

Post by finkgab » Thu May 29, 2008 9:21 am

I'm trying to render my music players scene with indigo.
But for some reason, none of the uv mapped textures appears on the render.

Here's how it looks after rendering in Indigo:

Here's how it should look, rendered in BI:

Anyone knows what's wrong?

What exporter did you use? Blendigo? If yes, did you input your texture paths in Blendigo (not just in Blender)?

Yes, I used Blendigo.
And no, i didnt xD

I feel like a noob, but well, I am.

The tutorial I read was just about rendering with blender materials only.
Where can I read about paths for blendigo?

Essentially, you don't need to (or you shouldn't) define Blender materials for Indigo. Indigo has its very own way of dealing with mats and it's completely different. Hence Blendigo, which allows you to set up your mats specifically for Indigo.
In the "material" tabs inside the script you can assign properties and textures (diffuse, bump, exponent) to all the mats you created and named in Blender. Have a look there first and see if you can find your way around. There are far fewer parameters than in Blender so it shouldn't be too complicated.
If you define your mats in Blender (which again is pretty pointless) Blendigo will perform a very rough translation of the values for Indigo, but I wouldn't rely on it. Much better to create your own Indigo mat within Blendigo than letting it do it for you.

are your UV map images saved in the Indigo folder? (usually in c:\program files\indigo\) this could be why theyre not showing up. for some odd reason they have to be saved there otherwise indigo gets all uppety lol. If theyre not, copy and paste them there (: (btw, great bands on the posters!:D)

Totally forgot to check these forums after posting..

Well, I did the paths on the folder..

___

EDIT:
It has been going for a minute only but I can already tell that the textures path did not work :/

I stopped it, and I placed a copy of the textures in PREVIEWS>TEXtURES folder, and again, I can already tell that it's not working . . .

Any ideas?
