Blender 2.58, Blendigo 3 and...Materials!

Post by thednx » Mon Jul 18, 2011 11:46 am

Hi,

i have searched high and low for info on how textures from the Indigorenderer.com Database can be integrated into a Blender scene...

Does it work, or is it still a "wait-a-while" till it works?

If it does work, how exactly does one use the external material?

In Blender, i`ve tried to: 1. add a texture to the object, 2. set it to image/file, and under "indigo render settings" i set it from "blender" to "file".

Then, when i want to render...nothing happens.

My mistake somewhere, or will i just have to wait until its implemented?

External materials are still on my TODO list of things to fix/check over.
I've been very busy the last couple of weeks, hopefully I'll try and find some time this coming weekend to look at the most urgent issues.

As Dougal said, external materials from the material database don't currently work.

It appears, however, that you also have a problem associating a texture with an object in Blender.
You'll have to UVmap (unwrap) the object first.

If you really need to use a material from the database you may have to use the Material Editor that came with indigo version prior to 3 (2.6.1), look at the material and re-create it in Blender. A bit more involved but works fine and gives you more control directly in Blender.
