When I try to use an external material I get:
Python script error: check console
What does it mean?
Blender 2.49b
Blendigo 2.44
Indigo 2.4.13
Mac OSX 10.5.8
Blendigo works fine but not with external materials..

Check the console and find out?
For OSX, you need to open the System Console which I think can be found in Applications or Applications/Utilities.

What materials were expected in the .pigm file?
Re: Blendigo works fine but not with external materials..
Your material name has to be same in blender material interface as in indigo material.igm or.pigm
Open your material with material editor and see what's the name, change it if u like.

Re: Blendigo works fine but not with external materials..
Unfortunetely this didn't solve it. The problem is only with materials that have included textures or shaders. With textures I get "python script error..." and with shaders Indigo crashes after starting the render process.
Ok, the object in blender has to be uv mapped to the texture, that's clear, but in blender I can't load packed textures from .pigm files.

Sorry if I'm missing the point, just catching your post on the fly:
pigm's are zip files. In Indigo there is also an item in the Tools menu to unpack pigm files.
