I've only been looking into Indigo over the last couple of weeks.
Without the wiki I have some basic questions that the manual doesn't answer
i.e. what are Light Layers and what are they used for?

you can group lights into socalled lightlayers, which DURING rendering (or also after that) can be turned off and on, resulting in many different light situations at once. Layer 0 always has sun/hdr/bg-light in it....

Forgot to say, what you CAN do:
as said, you can switch them on and off. Even better, though, you can change their brightness and hue seperately, which is great, especially for sun+lamp shots
