Alright me and SmartDen are in the communication phase. :)

Can it be the "fusion" exporter will come alive?

To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't mind. I've really grown used to setting up mats directly in Blendigo without going through Blender, but I'd still like to use some of the features in your exporter, Wedge.

I wanted to post this to add to my previous post. That is I didn't mean to sound harsh if it came across that way. I am sorry if it did. :oops:

On the point of it being easy to transfer one module from one exporter to another. I understand that each developer/maintainer will have a different understanding/knowledge of the way the exporter works and for some people it might look easy and for some people it might not.

I have been knee deep in the Indigo/Blender exporter code for about 15 months now. So I know my way around for the most part. :)

Another quick add, is that I didn't mean to sound harsh when I said I was disappointed about seeing incorrect fixes being posted. I am sure if people say these fixes work that they do, but from my point of view the code itself is the problem. (and I understand that many people never see or understand the code) While a fix from another direction might work a fix such as 64bit leaves a lot of people still left with the problem. And still from my view it is a problem, even if a outside fix works, because it is a fault of the exporter code. But I'll say thanks to those that do find outside fixes, for I am sure they help some people. :)

To expand on one last point, this being about the problems that keep surfacing after I fix them. I understand that the exporter I maintain is not used by many people and that the other exporter may not contain these fixes and I can't expect them to. Also when I talk about the problem and explain it to some level in a random forum thread, I can't assume that everyone will read this post or even see it.

There, I feel better now and I hope that this helped to clearly expain what I failed to in my first post. (I was quite frustrated when I first posted)

In other news...
I am trying to take care of some things on my todo list (like getting Carmine to v1, which was done last night) so that I can talk more with SmartDen and look at Blendigo.

Edit: And one last thing I didn't mention is that I previously said "I" can go on fixing problems behind the scene while Blendigo makes its connection with the user. I didn't mean to sound that Blendigo only fixes up for the users. To my knowledge Blendigo has plenty of behind the scene features that I do not have in the exporter I maintain.

And when I say ["I"] I do not mean me alone, I am fully ready to accept team effort throughout the entire exporter. On some bugs it seems that I am the only one that has fixed them, and that is why I said "I" in my first post. Partly the reason we ended up with two exporters I think is because we had different plans on a finished product. I was more interested in getting the core of the exporter up to speed. And finally at this point in time I feel the Hybrid exporter has reached this point. I am not that interested in the UI and if I can take a place working behind the scenes with Blendigo, that will be a good place for me to be. :)

I'm sure you don't need to apologize. You've done a lot of work, helping a lot of people around here. I'm glad you guys are talking because it was a shame to have a lot of good features spread across two exporters, forcing us to switch back and forth between the two. Good luck on this. It is much, much appreciated.
