A blend file?
a blend file would be nice or you can describe what you do.

Example: I'm blending two materials; phong and sss ("peachy" from the database).
All three objects are present in the scene. "Peachy" material is external.
I get a python error.

Exporting animation still seems to have issues. Meshes are exported separately, even when I deselect that option, and the mesh file is overwritten as each frame is exported. This creates a problem for animated meshes like fluids.

You'll have to wait until we've completed writing the exporter for Blender 2.5. The existing blendigo code will not run on blender 2.5
