Blendigo displacement

Post by paco » Wed Dec 10, 2008 6:26 am

I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere on the forums...

I'm trying to use displacement in blendigo. I've set up the displacement map in the materials panel, but all it does is shift my simple plane up/down. in the igs file there is none of the displacement info in the mesh object (like max subdivisions, etc).

How do I add this through blendigo?

I tried subdividing the mesh - and Blendigo seemed to subdivide it before creating the igs file. I was under the impression that the displacement feature of Indigo was an internal thing (ie, I pass it a plane and displacement map/parameters and it did the subdividing)

I'm happy to contribute whatever I learn to the wiki if anyone can clarify :)

While getting the images ready I found out why it's not working - I think there's a bug in the display location of the subdivide button in the mesh tab.

Originally I had the window too small to display all of the contents for the script - the button was not visible (even if I scrolled to the bottom). As I resize the window the button appears from the top and then moves down to a more correct (and visible!) position.

Anyway, now I know where those parameters are! Thanks for the exporter :)
