fatal error in mandriva linux

Post by cheese on toast2 » Tue May 06, 2008 3:06 am

hi everyone

ive just got indigo up and running on my mandriva linux 2008 install. i tried rendering a scene and ive got an error message which says something about 'normals length'. i'll post a screenshot of the error message. is this a problem with the model itself or with the fact im running indigo on linux? and does anybody know how this can be solved?

any replies much appreciated :D

Did you try to use Ctrl+A and Ctrl+N? - that's certainly not an OS-based bug ;)

OT: Nice blender logo, down there :) Looks a bit smooth, through.

this happens with normals that have length 0(under some strange circumstances, some meshes contain normals with length 0, in c4d triangulation fixes it most of the time).

In Cindigo this is avoided by setting normals with length 0 to 0 0 1. yesterday i talkted about it with ono, he said he'll change it to an error message instead of a fatal error.

In the meantime go bug Den till he fixes it
