Right then you naughty little Blendigoists

I have kicked off the wiki update for 09t7 with a few paragraphs about memory use and performance.
I will add some more in a while.

I would like some helpers to copy or rephrase relevant parts of the previous versions into the new and also add some more detail.

If no one can be stuffed doing anything - my particpation here ends.

We have too many people sitting on their arses waiting for hand outs and pleading incapacity.

..and.. I am not interested in hearing from people who say they will do this and that and then dont

Please head to the wiki and do something for the sake of the whole community and newbies.

You are lucky enough to get this renderer and exporter for free it would not hurt you to put 5-10 minutes here and there into the documentation in return

thanks Big Fan

I'll be happy to cover the evils of Blender autosmoothing and the EdgeSplit modifier. :) And since my Galileian thermometer now works it's a good example of precedence behavior too.

I added a quip on how to set 3Gb with Vista, but by directly editing your article as I couldn't find the 3Gb link... is this the way you'd like it? I can see how this might make a readable article a jumbled mess as time goes by, 12 different writing styles in one article...

Thanks for your contribution HT :D
I really just want to get it done.
This wiki update has been languishing for too long
The longer it is left the bigger the job gets
Feel free to add what ever topic you wish
Dont worry about the writing styles or the layout too much ATM provided you keep it reasonably neat
Someone can go through and make it all read well together afterward
Think of it as a draft
I havent written the 3gb part yet

ok I 've done as much of the wiki as I am going to - have time for.
There are starters for most topics but it still needs more detail worked in and some further illustrations and then a review..
If no one else contributes thats how it will stay 8)
If you dislike what I have done feel free to redo it...

HT there are places ready for you to talk about normals, smoothing and precedence.

thanks.

Outstanding framework! Dude, that rocks. I've already started writing a draft to paste in for normals & smoothing & linux/wine... btw, I see how to add image links, but I'm a wiki noob, how the hell do I actually put them up?

good I am pleased it will be useful :)

>how the hell do I actually put them up?

ah now that is a question!
I don't know. That had me stumped as well
All the illustrations presently in the new one I copied and pasted links from the old one - and shrunk the images a little to suit...
There is some detail at this page
http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/in ... iki:syntax
however I think we have really to upload the images here somehow/where  perhaps a gallery section?..
Perhaps ono can help with details of that...
