I've re-uploaded my blendigo material-preview scene with the .blend file included and a small readme file with some instructions.

You can find it at:
http://www.bloopdiary.plus.com/dave/materialpreview.zip

And, of course, with the new "select your preview" button, you can modify the blend for different purposes :D

@radiance: yes, i will try to convert some basic blender material settings when there's not yet a indigo data block in the material, this should not be to hard... stay tuned :wink:

@raven: have you used latest version of blendigo? If not sure, please download latest version from first post of this thread and try again... I thought i've fixed this a week ago :oops: :roll:

hi
at first - thanks for hard working

and about converting blender materials: nice feature, but not for all :) Please, leave blendigo's material editor as is (default grey diffuse for all blender materials). Maybe button "get basic materials settings from blender" will be good solution for all?

Hi, Zuegs

Can you raise the maximum exponent for transparent and specular materials to at least 1mil?

Cheers, Dave.

@DaveC - Thanks for the file. I still don't understand all of it but I'm noticing things here and there.

One major thing I don't understand is what affects the scale of the tile? I notice if I make my tile 600 x 600, it renders the same size as if I have it 24 x 24. Right now I'm just editing the XML code like this..

Code: Select all

<material>
		<name>Default</name>
		<phong>
			<diffuse>0.800 0.800 0.800</diffuse>
			<ior>1.500</ior>
			<exponent>9100.000</exponent>
			<albedo_texture>
				<uv_set>uv</uv_set>
				<path>GreenCheckers.png</path>
				<exponent>2.300000</exponent>
			</albedo_texture>
		</phong>
	</material>

The size of the image of the tile doesn't make any difference. It's how it's mapped on to the model. If you map one plane to an image, that image will fill that one plane. No matter how big the image is. You need to look on the blender docs about UV mapping.

exr ONLY works as latlong in indigo. If you want to use a probe format use .float (ridiculously large file size, though)
