Objectnames Blender > Indigo

Post by dafassi » Thu May 02, 2013 5:03 am

Hi!
Im Dennis, very new in indigo an have a question using the blendigo-exporter.

As you can see in the attached images inside blender all objects has names for the mesh an the materials.
Inside the IndigoRenderer just ther material-names will be shown correctly.
Objectes have not the names i gave them inside of blender.
iE: The object "Kamin" with the material "Kamin" have the name "cube_......" inside indigo.
For working with materials inside of indigo its a litttle bit frustrating ;).

Im on WIN7 64BIT
Blender 2.66.1a
Indigo Exporter 3.6.10.0
Indigo 3.4.18

I'm willing to bet it's because Indigo names the objects after their mesh data. Materials are attached to mesh data, not the actual object, hence.

Objects and Meshes in Indigo are named equivalent to the Objects and Meshes in Blender. However, a "unique Identifier number" is added to the name.
I believe the reason is that otherwise conflicts could arise if, for example you use linked external files with the same object and/or mesh names.
