Light Color temperature

Post by Meelis » Fri Sep 18, 2009 7:49 pm

Hi

Is 6600K more or less white light in indigo?
And will object size affect light emitting intensity if setted to lm?

@Meelis

From my point a clear no! Please take a closer look.

And also keep in mind that what you see has to do with
the whitebalance and if you are using camera tonemapping
with the used camera response curve.

And now a clear yes to your second question. ;)

So then 5250 in indigo is about white.
I found the 6600K from http://www.vendian.org/mncharity/dir3/blackbody/ but its more blue's greene's on my rendering.

How to use white balance - what are the x/y whitepoints?

Probably you're right about the blackbody temp of
6600k then, cause the scale I've posted isn't for blackbody.

For (x,y) you should take a look at the technical manual.
I've used the presets only cause it's easier for me. ;)

Sorry for any confusion I might have caused.

It has to be white Meelis, that's what psor is telling.

Please refer to the Indigo (technical) Manual shipped with the application, page 35. You will find a plain explanation on the camera white point along with a usefull link to wikipedia.

heres a list where you can find the right white point for your light temperature so that it will appear white in your rendering:

Thanks fused. At first I didn't get it, but I think it'll come in handy. :)
