Rendered about 48h; I stopped seeing gains after about 20 though.
Got to about 6500 mutations per pixel.
I wanted to see how long / how many mutations it would take to get a "clean" image.
I realize that past a certain point, the laws of diminishing returns kick in; I will keep an hourly image next time I try this, to try and pinpoint that.

Remeber, when you get to 1000 muts, you'll need to get to 2000 to see 50% less noise...and so on... It may take awhile to get rid of all the noise..
Personally, I think renders should always have some noise, like most real photos

Oh, noise doesn't bother me.
I shoot Nikon DSLRs. (If you're in the business, you'll get the joke)
I was just wondering what Nick had to say about it.
I've restarted the render at a much higher resolution (4000x3000), we'll see what it looks like at 48 h to compare
