I'm just playing dumb ;) You know there's some catch on the stff, being that the person with the knowledge usually knows where to find things (terms et all) wether because they seen it themselves or because they have the knowledge to do it themselves whereas a newbee don't...

I partially agree. Though in some cases, things are just really easy to find. I mean...at least if he searched and couldn,t find it then he made the effort. But most of the time they don't and in half of those cases the answer was awfully easy to find.

Like yesterday on IRC Smartden asked me to do a test on the blendigo script with Dupliverts. I had NO IDEA what that was. I shoved blender dupliverts in google and found it instantly.

Sometimes it's just a matter of trying. Anyway...

That doesn't help much. I know about the search function. I used it.

Does anyone here know about any planet generators out there?

Planet generators....such as what? Something that...creates a 3d model of a planet?

You'd be much better off with a planet modeling tutorial really. There should tons of those. Well there are quite a bunch for Blender so I guess there are at least a few for Sketchup.

Planet or terrain? Like...do you want a flat surface with random mountains and such, or do you want a planet with a texture that is seen from far?

You're not being extremely precise...

Still not being precise...a whole planet? a flat surface? What do you want? There arent any "magically generate an awesome scene in my dreams" software...I mean reallly...I still maintain that wether you want a terrain or planet your best bet is to find a tutorial that shows you how to do it.

Texture could probably be done by shader since you mentioned procedural up there.

Well, yeah, what I basically want to do is create sci fi scenes.. So it would involve entire planets, not neccesarily rendered down to individual features, but meant to be viewed from afar.
