Random GPU progress pic thread
Re: Random GPU progress pic thread
Got galinette's carbon fibre shader (http://www.indigorenderer.com/materials/materials/343) working on GPU:
This is a somewhat complex shader, with a blend between two submaterials, each with their own bump shader.
Runs at 27M samples/s on my old HD 7770.

maybe an obvious question, but are there plans to implement this as a "real-time" render option for different modeling apps (as with cycles or pixelberg)? is that in the works?

Re: Random GPU progress pic thread
This has been requested quite often, and it would be quite a logical move once the developers have got Indigo 4 up and running smoothly. Imagine the speed with OpenCL rendering coupled with instantaneous rendering updates as you model and move light sources around. Corona probably owns much of their success to it's snappy 3DS Max integration.FakeShamus wrote:maybe an obvious question, but are there plans to implement this as a "real-time" render option for different modeling apps (as with cycles or pixelberg)? is that in the works?
Re: Random GPU progress pic thread
Interesting question. Speed wise that should definitely be possible, but I assume the integration into a modeling application such as Blender, or Sketchup would have to be much tighter than just through an exporter written in Python or Ruby.
I'd find it most interesting for lighting and particularly for material development.

Wow, looks awesome! Hopefully the release of 4.0 will bring alot of the old people back! I miss all the old people that were on here when i stumbled across indigo back in 2008!OnoSendai wrote:woops, thought I posted that one:

You made a case for persistence !neo0. wrote:Ah to be 18 againCTZn wrote:oh my neo0. is all grownup nowIts funny when i look at my old work
As for the forum activity, it has always been fluctuating and back because it's the software making the buzz. Rushing has never been a factor here.

4min30s GPU render on my old HD 7770.
Looks a bit different from the CPU render for various reasons (unimplemented features etc..)
Still a nice image though. CPU version is here: http://www.indigorenderer.com/images/iphone-6-gold
Thanks to tomislavn for test scene!
