Ok, I won't force it. But I guess the default should be the language/locale detected by the OS?

Install time isn't the easiest time to set it. Maybe when you first run Indigo you can choose the language, and thereafter it can be stored in the registry.

I've started to take a look at the Qt linguist file (I renamed it to indigo_gui_french.ts before fiddling with it). And I must say the program is quite easy to use, the hard part is actually translating it to something that doesn't sound dumb :?

Anyway I'll keep at it and see if I couldn't get through all the entries. :)

P.S: I had previously installed the entire Qt SDK for personnal projects so I didn't download the linguist package.

It seems I'm having a little trouble translating some of the more "technical" terms, such as Tonemapping, Reinhard, ... and anything containing licensing in it as there isnt (to my knowledge) a french equivalent for it. The closest verb is "licencier" but that means to lay off someone :lol:

Also there was this particular entry which i found odd:

Code: Select all

.QFrame{
border-radius: 5px;
background: qlineargradient(spread:pad, x1:0, y1:0, x2:0, y2:1, stop:0 rgba(200, 200,200, 255), stop:1 rgba(160, 160,160, 255));
}
.QLabel{
background: none;
color: white;
font-weight: bold;
}
And I was wondering if I should translate "toolBar" and "mainWindow" to something else or if I should leave them as is.

}
Don't worry about that stuff :)
Also don't worry about 'mainWindow' and 'toolBar', that shouldn't be in there :)

Hey Borgleader, the most accurate technical term for tonemapping in french is, I think, compression/compresseur tonal(e).

Below are a few derivatives that might fit as well, but my preference goes to the precited, again for accuracy.

compression/compresseur dynamique
modèle tonal
correction/correcteur tonal(e)
tonaliseur

Yes, I believe it was one of the author's of the particular tonemapping technique that got his name.
