arneogg could you share this scene as a xml file?

Well, here is the Model file and stuff
indigoMaterialPreviewModel.zip
Done some small changes, like moving the logo out of the model and
moved the light abit higher to make the scene brighter
How it looks:
Content:
materialShape.xml
materialShape.obj
materialShape.mtl
2cm_grid2.jpg
Readme.txt
Have fun!

thnx for the files arneoog! I like the last version better, with the letters bent around the sphere. The previous one was a bit "unclear"
But this last one is a killer one!

I vote for this scene. Only change might be to move the lightsource to the left so that the caustics shows better. Nice work!

i think youd still need something inside the object to better show the SSS.
how about the letters extruding inwards into the sphere? then you can gauge the SSS and still have the writing appear for solid materials.

aernoog, that is f***in' nice!
I vote 100% for this one, it's simple, clear and understandable...
Do you have a .blend file by any chance to post or did you do this in another program?

Another request:
a realistic aperture radius.

Still messing around
440px
220px
That's not what I was aiming at, but that's not far !
Arne, maybe you could integrate the "i" into your test sphere, what do you think ?

Ooops. You mean Global Scale ?

No CTZn,
I mean that Arneoog needs some DOF effect in his scene.

Thank you, thank you!
Deus, I may move the light abit, yes
StompinTom, I will see what I can come up with..
joegiampaoli, Sorry.. No .blend file. This is made in Maya
OnoSendai, Yes indeed! it was 0.005. Should it be 0.03125?
With that value it starts to get blured 2 cm behind the object.. Looks good

@OnoSendai: I understood, that was a reference to a request I did some time ago; the Maya exporter still outputs 1m for 1cm, so I don't know about camera settings...
@arneOOG: are you considering my proposition previous page ? Could you share the Maya scene please ?

Plz don't forget the .mtl, when you export an .obj
Both can be imported to blender^^

Oh, sorry, CTZn

I don't know about the "I".. I think that will make it look messy
Hmm... do I want to share the Maya scene?...

I'm not sure, hehe
In Maya my model is 6x6 cm, and in indigo it's also 6x6 cm..
Do you got your units as cm or m? (mine is cm)
EDIT: Oh shit! could that mean that it is 6x6 meters!?
..but that's weird with the material settings in mind
I may share the maya scene later

Okay, I'm gonna mess with your test scene then
My idea is you don't take all the fame, so we can put the best from every mesh together
And what about some bubbles being diffuse instead of air ?

arneoog:
take a look at the log.txt,
see if u can see the sizes of the mesh AABBs (bounding boxes).
That should tell u how big ur objects are.
