Rendering Time

Post by aung_ca » Tue Jun 09, 2009 12:35 pm

Hi,

I am new to Indigo so please excuse me if I am asking a silly question.

After exported a simple box with a few holes using skindigo from sketchup, I tried to render it with Indigo, but after 2 hrs and it's still rendering.

I find such a long rendering time to highly unusual. Would someone tell me what kind of"normal" rendering time I should be expecting, Any tips about the type of trap new use can fall into that generate 2hrs+ long rendering time?

Also, does rendering time depends more on CPU or Graphics card power?

Thanks.

Indigo is an un-biased render, so it never stops rendering by itself. Instead, you tell it to stop rendering when you think the image is good enough for your needs.

And almost all 3d rendering is done by your CPU.

Hi aung_ca! And Welcome!

I ask you to post a sketch screenshot and the render you have after 2 hours, if you want a help.

Oh, and specify your machine's specifics, so we can understand its power.
