How do I save as JPG or other?

Post by Modude » Sun Mar 16, 2008 6:50 pm

Um, this is kind of dumb, I'm very new to Indigo, and I am rendering something, almost done, but how do I save the fiinished image as a picture? Like JPG or PNG, etc.

just close indigo when you are ready and look in the 'renders' folder inside indigo's folder for a .png (no .jpg sorry)
wait in the view/save cycle until after an image is saved - see the bottom of the indigo UI for progress - rather than accidently kill it in mid flight which might corrupt the image :D

note each time indigo saves in the cycle it overwrites the previous periods one. your render will have a number like im1204701137.png

By the way don't worry about corrupting the image, this has been fixed I am pretty sure?

Yes, corruption isn't a problem, an 'atomic' file move operation is used to avoid corruption.

this must be why it hangs like forever now if I do something else just as it saves

No, it 'hangs' because during the tonemapping process, another thread starts doing some serious work, hence less CPU time to go around :)

I see
well think of elderly single processors operated by elderly indigoists when you do that :P

But it only does this when closing the Window by pressing the X-thingy.
When closing through File -> Exit, it closes instantly.

Shouldn't this be fixed then?

What about a checkboxs in the GUI to deactivate this and let it just do a crappy fast tm for fast preview? :)

You should know better than to ask for a non-essential GUI feature kram :)
