Could you please not bump your thread everyday? The "off topic" forum isn't one of the most active ones out there and so it's normal if your thread goes un-answered for a while.

I think I've seen something quite similar over at blenderartists.org although it was a while ago so it would take some digging to find it. You might want to take a look though it may have been done more than once.

how about:

for the main part (the transparent bit)
1. start with a flattened cube
2. subtract a number of rounded cylinders from it's top face
3. delete the sides and bottom face
4. extrude the result a little to add thickness.
5. make a bump map for the ridges

Then, for the foil part
1. subdivide a plane a few times
2. make dents where the pills go
3. make a texture for it
4. marry it up to the main part

It aint that hard, just try to decompose the object into primitive shapes (and with an object like this, that's very easy).
I will answer no further questions on the matter, try to use your imagination ;)

Maybe this "making of" tutorial will help:

Thats it! I'm 99,9% sure this is what I saw over at Blenderartists.org

For blender, there is a more generic approach, called retopo. You can 'drop' a subdivided plane over your pills, it will follow the surface of your objects.

Yes but you would have to leave a gap between the pill and the mesh. Since there's always "empty space" in there.

Retopo is totally something I've never used effectively - that's a great idea, I'm going to try it myself (Borg: look closely at the blister packs, I don't think there'd be a problme)

Well on this "highres" one, I see at least 1-2 mm difference between package and pill height.

Yeah I tried it too, I got this done in....oh 5 min? (yay for blender portable! even if its a crashy beta  )

Basically this is what I did.
1.Spawn plane (after deleting default cube)
2.Scale plane by 2 on the X axis (S -> X -> 2)
3.Select all 4 vertices, and extrude (E)
4.Press Escape, and S (for scale)
5.Extrude again and move upwards (press Z to constrain to Z axis)
6.Use subsurf (set to 2)
7.Use array modifier to end up with more than one instance of it.

That should give you what I have more or less. And I realize the end result would give you a package that is 8-10 meters long by 4 meters wide. But that's just a matter of selecting the object and scaling it down. Good luck.

By te way neo0, no one is excluded from knowledge, anyone can learn. Somehow, you look quite reluctant to learning. Or asking maybe :)

To be closer to completion for my example I shall add:

Image-> 6 colors just for fun

It's about the corners, it's even better if you double the straight edges traversing the borders, and if the corner itself is of a square shape instead of a rectangle.

Cheers

My problem is creating making the bubbles hollow.. If you've ever seen one of these things, what you do is you is take the gum/pill oput of the bottom....

Does anyone here use wings 3D?
