The background is actually just a HDR image. Considering this is just a game running on the PS4..

Polyphony Digital Rocks big time.
Been a fan of GT since PSX
I think it's a well crafted shader + ps4 game engine.

If you also look closely you see the fake in the reflectiins, since they are not change (much) on position change oft the car, but only on rotations oft it...

I would buy a PS4 only for this Game.. Graphics and the overall look are amazing.
