Problems logging in from main site

Post by afecelis » Thu Dec 21, 2006 2:41 pm

In firefox 2.0 and 2.0.0.1-Linux, when trying to login from the main joomla site I got an error saying I didn't have permission to view the resources.
I had to try to post something in the forums and from the new login window I was able to enter as a registered user.

mmm, yup , probably. The problem just occurs in Linux; I had NP in windows, so it might be some security thing in Linux.

Thanks for checking it out :D

I sometimes have the same problems, and this is on both windows and linux, so i don't think linux is the problem.... But I have encountered the same problem on other joomla based sites also, so maybe it's a general joomla problem..?

I get that all the time, in Firefox 2.0 and windows
It will say I'm not authorized, then take me back to the main page, then i click it again, and it still shows I'm not logged in, then i have to click on a different page and it logs me in.

I also get the authorization error message from main page

I've tried various combos of Windows and Macs with Firefox, IE and Camino all to no avail. Whether logged in or not, any link on the "Indigo General News" heading forces me to the "You are not authorized to view this resource." page.

I've tried surreal's trick of clicking on another page and then coming back. Alas-- this doesn't seem to work for me either.

I'd love to find out what the impressive new features are for v0.7... so I'm going a litttle nuts...!

BTW-- this is a superbly fun renderer to play with. Great stuff!!

Also since the server changed I don't receive any eMails about postings

Perhaps this got to do something that the Forum changed my name from beloved Zom-B to stupid ZomB once...
(Would be lovly to get my - back ^^ )

afecelis, check your firefox settings, I am also in linux 100% of the time with firefox 2 (ubuntu) could probably be IPv6 not sure, google it up on how to disable it on firefox, (I forgot how I didi it) I had to do it because I was having some trouble with it, it conflicts with IPv4, but before you do that check your security settings like radiance says, if it works now, better not touch it
