With the rendering settings inside the file I would like to see indigo not require the ini files. It could be setup so that if these files are not found a default setup is used inside indigo until it finds the rendersettings in the xml file.

That's basically how it's set up already. I think having the ini file is better in this regard because you can easily change what the default settings are.

When I run indigo and the ini files are not present indigo complains. It is just as easy for me to edit the xml as it is to edit the ini file.

I have some problems starting indigo.exe remotely on many computers here, because it always complains about missing ini-files, although I have admin rights on all systems and all paths should be correct.
If I use the very same commandline locally everything renders fine.
So I would second getting rid of these ini-files, or maybe make them an option?
