overexposed region rendering

Post by Dusan » Tue Mar 18, 2008 8:28 am

Hello, I'm not sure whether this is a bug or a feature I'm unaware of.

Everytime I render a scene (seems to be any scene) using region rendering, the resulting image is totally overexposed, it's almost completely white. When I disable the region rendering (and keep the rest of the IGS file exactly the same) it's fine again, a perfect render.
Any ideas what this could be?

I may send an example scene if needed.
But even the simplest setup will manifest this issue: a plane, Blender Suzanne (a monkey's head) sitting in the middle and a sun. Basic solid color materials, no textures. I'm using Blendigo to export the IGS file.

Thanks in advance! :)

Please provide a Blend file or IGS. It would make it a lot easier to help you. :)

hi Dusan...

This is (maybe) related to reinhard tonemapping!
Try to use linear tonemapping if working with region rendering!

The Reinhard tonemapping really was the problem.
I switched to Camera tonemapping and it works just fine.

Thank you both guys!
