indigo/violet ?

Post by xrok1 » Fri Aug 17, 2007 10:11 am

i may of asked this before, can't remember. but is there any chance of combining the two? it would be awsome if you could make adjustments to tone mapping etc... while rendering.

one more thing, would it be possile to make the info bar at the bottom of the render screen hideable/closeable or resizeable? and have indigo remember its screen position and window size between renders?

i hope i don't sound like i'm complaining cause i'm really not. I LOVE INDIGO!

I found a "problem" with that - and a solution - idea :D

When you tonemap, while rendering, you need to calculate the tonemapping, obviously. But when the pic refreshes, you'd need to calc the whole thing, again...

My Idea:
"freeze current Preview" button.
It goes on rendering (that's the difference to a simple Pause button) but at the moment of pushing, the pic gets updated a last time and then stops updating :)
While this, the button disappears, but two more buttons appear.
One with "update"
One with "Auto Update" (which applies the new tonemapping settings to the pic, and goes on Updating the preview. Glare, Bloom, Denoise and Chrom. Ab. get reset, as they'd need to be recalced, every time)

Actually I think the bigger problem, is when you tweak the tonemapping parameters, they won't be able to (easily) be saved back to the .igs file.
So if you render the image again, you'll have to tweak all the sliders again.

so, you'd need to change the information, that stands in the igi?
OR, you use a "igt" - indigo tonemapping settings.
That'd also mean, everyone could have his own unique tonemapping default :D (That's already the case, but then, noone'd have to reset them, everytime :))

yeah, for every updated pic you could auto-apply the igt settings
