GPU Rendering Crashes Video Driver

Post by Umblefugly » Sat Jun 02, 2012 6:18 am

As the title says, no matter what every time I enable GPU rendering it crashes my video driver and I have to force close Indigo.

Specs:

Win 7 64 Bit Professional
32 GB Corsair Ram
XFX Radeon HD 7770 Black Edition(Stock Settings)
AMD FX-8150 8 Core @ 3.6 GHz (Stock)
Black Widow 850 Watt Bronze PSU

Tried with Catalyst v12.2, 12.3, and 12.4 currently on 12.4 so fully updated. Even tried with the openCL version from the APPSDK 2.7 and no go. Standard rendering works fine.

Tried with Indigo 3.2.13 and the newest 3.4.0 Beta (Both 64bit versions) using the scenes provided with the installation.

Also, I get the same effect using the Indigo for Cinema4D plugin.

Edit: Just installed the new Official beta drivers from AMD for Catalyst v12.6 and now both Indigo and Indigo for Cinema4D work...whew! Now I can take this for a spin :)

Good to hear the new AMD drivers fixed it :) We regularly test with an AMD FirePro V5800 here.
