[REQ] network timeout non-fatal

Post by dougal2 » Wed Jan 24, 2007 8:47 am

Would it be possible to make a network timeout non-fatal?

Maybe introduce a 60 sec wait and then try again, and then loop if still not successful?

I ask as sometimes I kick off a network slave a bit quick, before the master has loaded the scene (i usually run the master on the slower PC, and have a couple of faster slaves connected to it) - and a connect timeout will kill the slave, and I have to relaunch - and parse/load all the XML again.

If it waited and tried again periodically, the slaves could be started and just left running until they finally connect.

good idea?

++ for this request.

Sometimes I have this problem on my server, when simply launching two instances of indigo, side by side.
