Godzilla was claiming that swap decreases the realism of the render and seeing how this was the video for Swap and there was no noticeable difference in quality...I have downloaded the video from your link so it should not be my mistake: this video shows features Indigo has already, nothing about swap ?

Hi,
is that thread about the new Indigo or about a RandomControl tool?
I'd suggest a finer aperture diffraction control (post-processing).

Re: Indigo 2.4 - Don't Make Me Think
Indigo does not try to play with perception, other renderers/post effects might.and there was no noticeable difference in quality...
I believe that Indigo users have this distinction at heart, and that they would care to preserve it while requesting ehancements.
Now take it easy neo0. but please cease questioning Indigo's aims.
Furthermore, comparison has not the value of reason. This thread's definitly about Indigo.

Re: Indigo 2.4 - Don't Make Me Think
Any news on a possible release date? Is there a rough timeline or list of expected changes/improvements that are being developed?
Re: Indigo 2.4 - Don't Make Me Think
Hi Tom,
We're working hard towards releasing the first 2.4 beta version within the next few weeks.
We have a roadmap here:

Although some features may move from 2.6 to 2.4 and vice-versa.

OnoSendai, any chance of periodic updates. A month can seem like a long time sometimes.

Updates should come when there is something to update - not just we are bored and want something new to play with? on the other hand I am bored atm......what can I play with

Re: Indigo 2.4 - Don't Make Me Think
For me new beta releases of Indigo are always pushing myself to continue work on older private project on halt.
Indigo is nothing about a monthly magazine, more the kind of morphine some of the tech-junkies around here like me need, not to get mad
Also definitely one of the big advantages of Indigo always was the quit quick update cycle (even with small changelogs!)!
Everybody loves this attitude of Ono like Glare should know after some customer Feedback they get in the past.... don't forget about this glare

Well, considering how much time has passed, my money is on there being something to update us on.. Things have gotten pretty quiet around here and I think I have a good guess of why that is.Doug Armand wrote:dakiru wrote:C'mon, it's not the monthly magazine, is it?neo0. wrote:OnoSendai, any chance of periodic updates. Something like this might be nice.

For all we know, glare might be working on some really exciting new technology that could totally change your workflow.

Re: Indigo 2.4 - Don't Make Me Think
That, or they're consolidating the tech they already developed. Which, as they're a young company, would seem wise.
Re: Indigo 2.4 - Don't Make Me Think
Awhile back, there was a feature request which was basically to be able to tell indigo where indigo should be focusing on (parts of the scene that are still noisy.)
