ook was fun

it's a reference to my monkey's pride (as a reference to me, I own no monkey)
So dmn, you are proposing to use region rendering as a way to fake effectively a shift lens, am I correct ?

Back when I made my comments re: region rendering, I did feel that way.
Now it is something that's needed - we've gotten a whole lot of fun new stuff in the meantime.

Since indigo is using a thin lens model there are NO lens distortions using the indigo camera. So to perfectly imitate a shift lens you could either model such a lens in indigo or use region rendering and then apply lens distortions afterwards if you want them.
Tilt is a totally different aspect that can NOT be achieved with region rendering. I think it might be possible with minor adjustments to the thin lens model, but I'm not sure. Might be interesting to have it in indigo, but not a widely used must-have, imho.
