Heh no, we're having a communication breakdown. I understand he/you stuffed an exif tag onto a PNG, but that's not a PNG comment, that was the point. PNG uses label:data tEXt pairs as I outlined back on page 1... and gimp doesn't display PNG comment tags.

moot point, nik's done with it. :D

as i went through several render tests and got confused with lighting setups and mats - figured out that this could come handy and ease to use :

as indi creates random image number it could also create a .txt file containing
information about scene setup and maybe setup for matts used in the scene - generally dump all useful information so one can review them later and use as an reference

how about that?

just open the exported IGS file in your favorite text Editor to get all this information and reference... ;-)

Great :) Maybe you could add the name of the .igi, so someone could then write a resumer where you simply load the jpg and it automatically does the rest, would be cool since I have no clue anymore which .igi belongs to which .igs. If you don't rename the file it can take the name out of the jpg filename though... hm.
