mrCarnivore:
there's still a lot of work to do with participating media + bidir before it's finished.

Thx for the quick replies.

While you are talking about media. I realized that it is very annoying, When placing a glass over a phong-surface (which has no medium and since no precedence) to find the right level above the surface where it does not intersect and also not look like flying way over the surface.

Isn't it fairly easy to add the precedence paramter to every material? It would at least be quite useful...

Don't you have an align tool in your modelling software?

Simple aligning doesn't help since it looks overlapping in indigo when there is clearly a gap between the glass and the surface. You have to eleveate it some more to really prevent overlapping.
In the glass-post it said you have to elevate it at least 2mm from the surface. But that is really annoying to find the right distance without it looking to fly!

Gotcha !
I didn't know about those 2mm.
Learning and learning and learning... 8)

[edit] Still it is easy (at least in Max). Just align the glass with phong and then move it up by 2mm

I'm not sure if it really is 2mm or if that was just a guideline to really make sure it is rendered correctly...

I think that was 0.2 mm, but I'm too lazy to check now :P

So 0.7t6 is on its way ? Congrats Ono !
