Hi.
I´m playing these days with ISL, thanks to CTZn excellent tutorial.
I´ve found in Indigo 3.6.8 that you can´t have both texture and ISL in a material definition at the same time.
In this way, you lost the possibility of using a texture in ISL, with the sample2DTextureVec3 function.
Is easy to use ISL to generate materials such the one below. I have used Cindigo to create it, as Cindigo has the fields to load textures besides the ISL code window.
I propose you to add a button in the ISL window to load textures (see pic below):
I know this feature probably is not top priority for everyone, but it will enhance ISL usage a bit more.
Also, I´m very happy with the use of shader parameters, is a very convenient feature, I wish Cindigo would incorporate in the near future the handling of parameters in the Indigo materials section.
Many thanks!

As far as ISL is concerned, the sampled texture being discarded after the first edit is a bug wich I'd like to see fixed.juan_irender wrote:I know this feature probably is not top priority for everyone, but it will enhance ISL usage a bit more.
I'm glad the pdf was useful already !

Hi, CTZn!
Yes, your PDF was very useful for me.
Since I known Indigo, I feel ISL was a great feature.
I have some background in programming/tweaking RMAN Shaders. But for some reason, I wasn´t able to transfer this knowledge to ISL.
Your paper has open to me the door for using the programatic interface of Indigo. I´ve seen in the past some examples from Ono, Galinette, Fused, you and others.
But it wasn't after reading your valuable contribution that I´ve been able of transfer my old little knowledge to ISL.
So many thanks to you and your work.
I think ISL has a lot of possibilities for Indigo users, so I ask for these features to be added to Indigo.
Thanks!

We're working on this now, should be done for 3.6.14.

Wow!
Very nice, I'll try as soon as I can.
Thanks, Ono, is a very welcome add on to Indigo and ISL.
