Ouch! You're a patient man. But it was definitely worth it.
I guess it's the glossy metals in your scene that make it slow to render. Have you tried one version with other types of mats? I'd be curious if it renders much faster.
Or, just to repeat my old tired tip, have you tried rendering at double the resolution and downsample? I'm almost certain you'd get a cleaner result in the same amount of time...

I'm render my new pictures in 2560x resolution and dowsampled to 1280.
