Test with the Ivy generator

Post by Olis » Tue Jun 19, 2007 11:21 pm

I played around with the ivy generator this morning because I wanted to render something in indigo, and I made this scene.

hey man

great work, how did you handle the export of the scene... its obviously blender but whenever i made even slightly detailed ivy entanglments blender through out mem issuues on export. also when i tried to render just a bit of ivy using blendigo, it didnt pick up my alibedo's gave an error once indigo ran.

did yu have any of these problems?
if so how did you overcome them?

DOF would be OK if the focus was near the front/middle of the image, not at the back.

@ Ono: Yeah, you're right about the leaves. I didn't notice that.

@ Matsta: The export of the scene went flawless but when indigo started building trees I thought for a while that it was going to crash. It took up 1.94Gb of my swap file and almost hit the ceiling of it. I had no problem with the leaf material. I had made tests with a leaf material previously.

This is what it looks like when I am exporting. You can see it decrease by the end.

I rendered another one with slight modifications. The leaves are not upside down anymore and it's higher res :D

Is it normal that if i launch IVY on over a blender exported (with triangulate) simple scene and add just a small with no many branches generation, IVY hangs for hours consuming CPU and "not responding" ???
Im using VISTA HOME with ATI x1650 Card
Im asking here because i love you all

What matters more is what processor you have.
