Re: Terrace - 1st Render
Looks nice, but the colours are a bit weird (right side is kinda purple) and the whites are rather blown out.
Re: Terrace - 1st Render
Cosy project, please get me there once it's done !
Oscar J is pointing out extreme material values for albedos, detracting from a realistic setup somewhat. Keep in mind that a very paper sheet is only a 80% grey; most whites you'd want to use would even be darker.
Same goes with colour and texture's saturation. Both phenomenon (saturation and overbrightness) will increase noise and convergence time.
PS: an alternative to post processing might be a different camera tonemapping response file (film).

I like it. Has that blown out, hot summer sun feel. Over- / under-exposure is not always a bad thing!
Re: Terrace - 1st Render
I agree that under/overexposure isn't always bad, BUT looking at this picture exposures just don't fit.StompinTom wrote:I like it. Has that blown out, hot summer sun feel. Over- / under-exposure is not always a bad thing!
If he would have like to show overexposed situation, the sky should be way more blown out.
and i also agree that materials are just not set up right yet.
good start though
best regards

Thanks for the advice, I will definitely use some of your recommendations in my next render.
