Impressive work Radiance! this sure does take Indigo to the next level as well as blender! I thought you had totally switched to Max! It's cool to see blender gets the job done for your totally pro arch vis work!

amazing, just one questions. Is there something special with the trunk of the palm trees, they look.... different.

very nice. but somehow it still has a CG feel to it and its a little overexposed, id say. but the detail is incredible. im surprised your computer didnt seize up in Blender, trying to model the fucking thing.
as always, top quality.

Excellent work radiance, you really are pushing the boundaries of what Indigo can do.
I agree with StompinTom, there is some kind of (over)exposure issue, can't put my figure on it tho.

However, the biggest remaining thing needed, I think, is SSS through the leaves. I think the lack of this effect may be contributing to the slight 'CG' look - the underside of the palm tree and orchid leaves are way too dark.

This isn't possible with single flat polygons in Indigo right now, but it's something I'll put in soon perhaps.

Apart from that, fantastic job!

This piece is truly a significant achievement, radiance. Well done!

I agree that I wasn't at all fooled that it was a CG pic right off. There are some aspects that still give it away, some already mentioned. My additions would be: the Bird of Paradise plants aren't nearly full or fleshed out enough (they grow pretty thick, in terms of numbers of leaves, etc.) and because of this, its easy to tell that they're instanced. The bungalow structure itself appears to be slightly floating over the grass. IRL, the grass rarely grows right up to a wall so evenly. This could be "fudged" by putting a nice stone patio slab in front of the sliding glass door. I love all the palms, but agree about the trunks of the tall ones... their shader looks almost like its got ramps on it or something... they stand out a bit much in places. Also, the roof could use some more emphaized bump - altho this may be a side-effect of the sun's angle coming from above and behind the viewer. The sky color gets too white toward the horizon - not necessarily what you see in the tropics.

Look forward to seeing more of this calibre of work from ya!

Good catch about the sky colour being too white Mzungu, the sky in this pic looks like a European sky.
The solution to that would be to lower the turbidity.

How many polys?
I dont even want to know  that's what impress me the most !

EDIT: If I may, Radiance... Here's a RGCed version of the 1600 pic for screen/gallery, even more impressive/photorealistic !!! And yes, looks a bit overexposed then, may need some contrast in post :)

Got to thinking about this, and as I recall, they are actually arranged such that the stalks & leaves emerge from the plant in a sort of overlapping fan shape. I googled for some ref. pix, and found a few, tho none seem to clearly illustrate what I'm on about:

...maybe they'll be of some help/use...?

I see the same, need indeed to lower luminosity and add a bit of contrast but in my opinion it would match reality closer then.
