Very cool! I like the bubbles inside the handle.

It so turns out I'm a carpenter/construction worker and this reminds me of working on the job... hehe.

I like the green handle! :) And that orange/red (at least that it how it shows up on my cheap LCD) is beautiful too!

Very very good! I like caustics!!!
Maybe for metal part of screws it should be more realistic pump the mirror, I mean more chrome material!

Hi Kosmo,
great modelling as usual.
Just a couple of things:
the table has too high specular values, it looks a bit like pastic.
try <specular>0.05 0.05 0.05</specular>
And,
needs more DOF effect !! :)

Yes, that would be interesting to know.
Spheres with normals flipped?

Yes, that's that simple with 0.6, with a non absorbant, ior-less material (that is, air).

If I understand how 0.7 works, flipping normals is not required but precedence of the bubbles have to be highest in scene.

PS: I've myself started to set a scene with screws and bolts up a few weeks ago, so don't be surprised if I post such an image some day ;) I second the crits here, and also the screws heads are missing some details/contrast, maybe because of postprod ? Give it one more shot please :)

ok lets answer...the bump settings is...like this in xml code...

Code: Select all

	<material>
			<name>13 - Duighgf</name>
			<phong>
				<diffuse>0.384314 0.380392 0.356863</diffuse>
				<specular>0.0803922 0.0803922 0.0803922</specular>
				<exponent>244.692</exponent>
				<fresnel_scale>1.0</fresnel_scale>
			<albedo_texture>
				<uv_set>albedo</uv_set>
				<path>Textures/tool.jpg</path>
				<gain>1.0</gain>
				<exponent>2.2</exponent>
			</albedo_texture>
			<bump_map>
				<uv_set>albedo</uv_set>
				<path>Textures/too bumpl.jpg</path>
				<gain>0.0007</gain>
				<exponent>1.0</exponent>
			</bump_map>
			</phong>
		</material>
for bubbles inside the screwdrive i use simple streched sheres with dielectric material and ior of 1.33 the plastic have ior 1,5!i turn off the bidirectional because the bubbles does not render if bidir was enable..that all..thnx for your good words and suggestions!
